The Group's product range includes foams, sealants, adhesives, waterproofing products, insulation systems, fixings and complementary products.

In response to the needs of users, Selena provides top-quality solutions keeping in mind the trends of the modern world, comfort, safety, speed and efficiency of the construction process. Selena consistently launches products that reduce heat loss and external noise in buildings, while increasing the comfort of their use.

Selena SA assumes that carpentry installation works, which include the installation of façade windows and balcony doors. They are part of the investment process associated with the construction or modernization of residential or commercial buildings. Therefore, they should be designed and implemented in a manner specified in the regulations, including technical and construction regulations, and in accordance with the principles of technical knowledge, ensuring compliance with the basic requirements for construction objects specified in Annex I to the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) No. 305/2011 of March 9, 2011, establishing harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89/106/EEC (Official Journal of the EU L 88 of April 4, 2011).

Proper installation of façade windows and balcony doors is a sequence of steps carried out in successive stages:

  • installation planning and design,
  • preparing the facility and window structures for installation,
  • determining the position of window structures in the openings,
  • supporting the structure to transfer the forces acting parallel to the plane of the windows,
  • derived from its weight and additional operational loads caused by users,
  • mechanical fastening to permanently connect the windows to the building structure and to transfer forces acting perpendicular to the plane of the window coming mainly from wind loads,
  • execution of the insulation layer and sealing of the connections between the windows and the reveals.

Selena WINS Systems

Selena's standard for sealing and insulating doorframes with jambs covers: selected, important issues related to the design, execution and functions of the insulation layer and sealing layers, as well as the requirements for the level of air tightness, resistance to rainwater penetration, and thermal insulation of doorframe-frame junctions, which should be met as a result of proper execution of carpentry installation works using materials manufactured or supplied by the Selena Group.

WINS is a frame-to-frame insulation and sealing systems, which consists of materials designed to perform insulation and sealing within properly designed expansion joints, ensuring the achievement of results in terms of thermal transmittance, acoustic insulation and resistance to the passage of rainwater and air through the joint, at a level many times higher than that required by national technical and construction regulations.

Based on experience and the results of laboratory and field tests, we present three proven insulation and sealing systems based on materials manufactured and supplied by Selena. Designed for professional insulation and sealing, the use of which, in accordance with the recommendations and guidelines of the Selena Standard, makes it possible to achieve a result that exceeds the quality standard set based on the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of April 12, 2002 on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location (Journal of Laws 2019, item 1065) and in accordance with the trends of highly energy-efficient NZEB buildings.

WINS systems are innovative 3-layer systems for insulating and sealing junctions between door and frame. The systems regulate the flow of water vapor in the joint and inhibit uncontrolled air infiltration, resulting in increased energy and acoustic efficiency of the joint. WINS systems consist of integrated products that, when used as a system, provide the junction of the jamb with the Selena Standard of sealing and insulation.
